The Feria (annual local celebrations) is late this year as the first Sunday in September only falls on the 7th of the month.

On this Sunday around 500 (yes, five hundred!) beautifully groomed horses with their local riders dolled up in their traditional Spanish costumes ride under the old arch (Puerto de Jerez) and down the narrow white streets to accompany the statue of the Virgin of the Light, Patron Saint of Tarifa, to the San Mateo church.

It is a fantastic spectacle which we ourselves enjoy year after year. Thereafter everyone is in party mood enjoying drinks and tapas in town. The weather is usually lovely at this time of year. Come and enjoy it with us.
