A unique formula suited to discerning travellers

Dar Cilla is unique of its sort in Tarifa.  It is located on the outskirts of the old town within the 12th century walls. Dar is an arabic word for a town house in which a series of apartments are grouped around a central courtyard.  Each apartment is fully independent, but there is a pleasant air of sociability and you will meet the owner and fellow guests on the roof terrace over a glass of wine.  It is within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants, castle, harbour (daily fast ferry to Tangier takes 35 minutes) and the local town beach, but far enough away from the Tarifa nightlife to ensure you enjoy a good sleep.

Dar Cilla comprises eight exclusive, individually-designed (self-catering) apartments with the accent on charm and comfort, each with its own entrance and stairway to the fabulous roof terrace (surely the best in Tarifa) with an interesting collection of sculptures, loungers, a shady porch, an open shower, soft wraps for cooler evenings, candles – a truly idyllic spot to sip your wine as you look across to the lights twinkling along the Moroccan shoreline with the huge cruise ships passing by.

You will be welcomed personally by Martina (General Manager). In each apartment you will find a copy of the book Tarifa Inside Out and Round About (see www.tarifainsideout.net) written by Zoë, the owner of Dar Cilla, so you will immediately have all the information you need.

All apartments have attractive, fully equipped kitchens, separate bedrooms, design furniture and every accessory to ensure maximum enjoyment – Wi-Fi, iPods, fans, soft cotton kimonos, as well as welcome wine and basics such as tea, coffee, oil, vinegar and toilet paper.  Towels are changed every 3 days and the apartment is freshened up. Bed linen is changed at the end of a week when the apartment is cleaned. All have electric heating and some have wood burning fires for winter visitors.

Dar Cilla boutique apartments are a far cry from standard self-catering apartments!  Martina and Zoë are on hand or available on their mobiles to give you any assistance or advice. We go that ‘extra mile’ to ensure that your stay meets your expectations.  If you pre-book your day in Tangier through Martina you will not only have a great day with our private Moroccan guide, but will get many tips to help you optimize your day and avoid any hassle.

To ensure that Dar Cilla proves to be the right choice for you, may we remind you that the apartments are self-catering, do not have 24 hour reception/night watchman, daily cleaning or bed-making, or room service. Dar Cilla does not provide any meals.  If you choose not to make your own breakfast  then breakfast bars are nearby. We are a no-smoking establishment, only take children over the age of 12 and do not accept animals.

All apartments in Dar Cilla are for the exclusive use of those guests who register as staying with us. All terraces and patios are inter-linked. There is a large communal roof terrace which all Dar Cilla guests can enjoy. The larger apartments (Amadeus and Zagora) have patios and terraces which are for their private use; however, these are not 'free-standing' apartments but an integral, inter-connected part of the Dar Cilla Guest House complex and as such are also not for the use of anyone from outside who is not registered as staying in the guesthouse. In the interest of security and the peace and quiet we would ask you to respect this house-rule.
