A monumental olive tree stands proudly sentinel outside this totally refurbished and attractive street-side apartment, putting some distance between the apartment and the road.  Double glazing, thick Moroccan curtains and air conditioning minimize any noise from traffic.  A spacious bed-sitting room for TWO PERSONS ONLY, the beds can be made up as a double or two singles.  There is an open kitchenette  with two hotplates, a microwave, a toaster, a Nespresso machine and TV.  

Although I personally doubt that many invalids will choose to negotiate the hills and uneven pavements of Tarifa, this apartment is invalid-friendly, according to the legal specifications.  This does mean that the spacious shower/toilet is fitted with the obligatory handrails etc.  

This apartment has access to the fabulous Dar Cilla roof terrace, through a side-street door, with its unbeatable view across the Strait of Gibraltar to Africa, plenty of lounger chairs and a shaded terrace. There is no lift so obviously this facility is not available to invalids.

Compared with the other Dar Cilla apartments , La Palmera is a more basic ‘bed-sitting room’ apartment with a mini-kitchen and is on the street side, all of which you know before booking, and which is reflected in the price. Younger surfers tell us this is a perfect apartment , totally suited to their needs.
